Inmy career I haven’t had many sponsors. One of the reasons for this isthat I am first of all a football player and not a marketing tool. Oneof the first sponsors I ever had is the famous Italian designer GiorgioArmani. He found me in Brazil when I was only 18 years old, and after 8years I am still with his company. More recently I have signed a dealwith Pepsi. It was fun recording the deal. For 2 days they closed thecentre of the city of Como, a beautiful city on the Lake Como, andduring the recording I had all the time hundreds of spectators lookingat me. Soon the fans will be able to enjoy this on TV.

Foran outsider it is difficult to understand why a footballer at my leveldoesn’t do more commercial work, they often think that our work is only2 hours a day. The truth is that looking after our body to make sure weare always at the top it is a full time job. We need to work hard ,rest well, eat properly, focus on what we are doing all the time. Oftenthe difference between a good footballer and a champion is the abilityto concentrate on the game 100% for all the 90 minutes , and to be ableto do that I need to practice my concentration everyday all the time.And that is why I avoid taking on too many commitments outsidefootball. This is an important rule in everything we do in life. So tomy fans I would like to say: If you want to have success in life learnto focus on what you are doing. Don’t be distracted by other things.There is a time to be serious. Don’t mix things. Be focused andwhatever you are doing you will be a champion.
