I hate  studying  english ,too.
I just learn it for the test.
In china,most of  the students learn English though doing exercise.

actually, in pedagogy, nowadays CLT(communicative language teaching) is becoming more and more important, which takes grammar behind communicatve skills, but if you wanna to practice your english without speaking out, this is useless for you and you may just can understand little.  i also don't like to recite the new words but i must to because my major is English.  here are some ways for lazy people to learn english~
1.you can read some short english stories, some that can raise your interest
2.listen to voa~the listening meterials are simpler than others i think
3.read some english philosophic sentences or beautiful actor's lines, choose some you like to recite.  Some english philosophic sentences aren't hard for you to understand and also very interesting!  The actor's lines can be used in your daily life.
So much for you if you can do all these~

speaking English with you mates, it is easier for you to communicate face by face as you can guess the meaning by looking at his face and emotions.
Watching TV news and again you can guess if you cannot understand what they talk about. start with listening to radio is more difficult, especially for CNN, speed is fast.
Watch movices, first with Chinese subtitle, second with English subtitle, but make sure you got good quality movies at least the subtitle is correct

hey guys, stop thinking about gramma if u want to prove your speaking,
when u speaking, u don't normally thinking about the gramma of what u are talking because this is a kind of wasting time. for example, when u are speak to others using english, here is no time for u to consider the gramma.
gramma is important for writing, if u want to write good essay, u can't make gramma mistake

I think if you want to learn English well,you should first learn the grammar well,then you should
try your best to enlarge your vocabulary.Maybe you can rend some books of vocabulary or some passages.

My english is just a little better than you. In my opinion,we can study english together.To persevere means victory!

I think most English learner have your problem,but above I want to know your purpose for this help---for text?or for your skill?

Maybe you think these is the same at all .But I want to say these key points are different!
Now ,I just say some feelings in my learning process:

1.Words are the foundation.No matter what you are for,you have to broaden your qutities of English.I recommend the words book of Yu Minghong.

2.Reading is necessary.Buy some CET or GRE text papers years before.

3.Listening is important.Just listen again and again attentively.

I believe hard work can make up for lack of natural talent ,so I spend my most free time in the New Oriental,and its' courses are very interesting.

I think the best way it is practic,and adapt the English idiom.
The more practic,the better english skills you have.
